4th of July..

we set off to Donner Lake (Brian's Aunt/Uncle's house sitting)... I can honestly say that the fireworks were the most beautiful I've seen in my life!!! We plan to make this a family tradition.. the girls just loved the lake - makes us want to move near a beach... hum, I could be happy in the OC! ;) My parents joined us as well as Brian's Aunt Debbie and husband Kenny. I of course made my all American Apple Pie, we enjoyed a slice w/a glass of Champagne...and ended the night w/ghost stories (go figure).

..... the most adorable moment today was Marissa laying on the floor of our catwalk (for those not familiar w/our home the hall leading to the girls bedrooms) on top of a blanket w/a doll on top of her chest (similar to Sierra the night of the 4th). Anyway, I was surprised to see the ceiling can lights on, since it was 1pm and while turning off the lights asked Marissa why she had turned them on - - Marissa mumbled to her doll then quickly said "mommy - we are looking at the fireworks!!" DUH!"
