BART . . . no there are no Monsters on this ride.

I think Marissa was looking for the "YETI" (the Matterhorn's Abominable Snowman) HA! I told her we will probably run into a few weirdos but no Yeti - [although I did see a homeless man in the corner of my eye as I exited the "Why is this [BART] elevator so STINKY, mommy" - who could pass for Yeti's brother.]
Anyway, this was the Great BART Adventure. Marissa has seen through the car window, the BART train zoom on the track on various occasions always asking "Mommy, WOW, when can we go on that Train?" We always drove to the city (San Francisco) when Brian worked at William-Sonoma, but now that he works in Brisbane for Monster Cable (wait, that's kinda ironic!!), the kids and I have yet to venture to the city alone. Today was my brave attempt to visit an old friend w/whom I worked with. Despite the 1/2 mile walk from the parking lot to the silvery BART gates (No flippin' ramps near the stairs - a new BF letter to add to my list). Sure the (honest) handicap can park curb side, but what about us mother's schlepping a stroller w/approx. 50 lbs.??!!, not to mention nearing death by two vehicles flooring it into the parking lot as I strolled onto the main street.
The BART ride went amazingly well - I did not have to fold up the stroller once! For the most part people on the train were friendly.. and the girls not once made me wish I just stayed home. The weather in the city was beautiful and the walk up California Street was refreshing - bringing back memories of my 'before kid' days. Marissa seemed very intrigued w/the city, but nearing 3:00 p.m. and no nap for Sierra (we left the house at 10:00am!).. it was time to go. The BART ride back was just as easy going... HA! - I almost forgot: Sierra was trying to pick this man's leg hair, seated beside us "GROSS" I whispered and gently tugged her off.. the man grinned "THAT's OK".... I cutely grinned back "HaHa". (And don't remind me of the 1/2 mile walk back to the car)....The girls were later nestled all snug in their car seats, while visions of brake lights blinked in my eyes. Looking forward to my next city adventure - the Cable Car!!
