Beginning in Adventureland we came across the Enchanted Tiki Room w/musical performances by mechanical birds, flowers and tiki poles (which Sierra was very scared of) ending w/a sudden tropical storm. The tiki room has been at Disneyland for 4 years, but we didn't notice it back in June, thought it was a restaurant. We continued through adventureland winding up in New Orleans Square to ride The Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion..this was AWESOME!!! Sierra was scared at first as with the Pirates of the Caribeean.
Each day Marissa set out a strict schedule which always included the Matterhorn Bobsleds (BKA the YEDI), Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and Alice in Wonderland...I think the workers began to wonder if we were aware of the many other rides the park offered. Apparently Sierra inherited my motion sickness and therefore riding the Tea Cups together, while Brian and Marissa spun in a dizzy frenzy.
New at Disneyland, "Tinker Bell & Her Fairy Friends" at Pixie Hollow, where Marissa got the chance to meet her favorite fairy, Silvermist!! These were the ONLY character(s) Sierra enjoyed photographing with.
Returning this year "Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough, which Marissa and I were lucky enough to come across one day after existing a shop in Fantasyland.
At Critter Country Santa's reindeer roundup included visits from Santa and his (real life) reindeer (Brian and I had never seen real reindeer or to be quite honest knew they existed), Pluto, Magicians, Mrs. Claus; also offered crafts and cookie decorating.
We spent 2 of our 5 days at California Adventure and was very disappointed to find that one of our favorite rides, the Sun Wheel was under construction along w/an empty lagoon where they were building structures for a water show. So, we set our sites on the Golden Zephyr ride, the rides at "a bug's land" and of course Toy Story Mania ride.
Our last night, we saved the best for last, watching on Main Street the "Believe in Holiday Magic Fireworks", which concluded w/snow falling - actually bubbles, SO FLIPPIN' COOL!
We tried taking pictures of it but it never came out clear enough (you can see Sierra looking up at the bubbles falling like snow).
We definitely had a magical Christmas @ Disneyland.
