O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

how lovely are your [9 foot tree] branches! The day after Thanksgiving we headed over to the Smith Family Farm - this has become our tradition...First we ran a few errands, picked-up some yummy appetizers at Trader Joes and of course we slacked a bit and arrived to the Christmas tree lot just before it rained!
Scarecrow Marissa & Sierra.... The girls taking a break while Brian and I pick a tree... A family had purchased a tree we were also checking out, so since the staff at the tree lot had to replace the space with a similar 9-10 foot tree, we hung around to be the first to claim it! Here are the girls patiently waiting for the tree to be unwrapped... Voila! SOLD we loved it!!! Of course, as soon as the tree was loaded in the back of our truck it started to rain - we could see that the dark gloomy clouds had not arrived near our house - thankfully we were right because I could not imagine a wet tree inside the house!! The staff let me take as many left over tree branches they had around the lot in wheel barrels, so as we walked around the grounds we noticed their gazebo all decked out for Christmas...here are the girls acting silly!! Here's Brian trimming an inch off the tree, 10 feet is too big, whoops! We'll have to remember to buy a 9 foot tree next year! I loved the sky in the background - so pretty!!! A family tradition of mine (which my sister and I still enjoy) has now begun our White house tradition...each year the girls will take turns putting the star on the top of the tree! Marissa was super excited to help Brian!!! Brian and I toasted the evening with Champagne of course!! - HA!
