Night before Kindergarten...

and I'm a nervous wreck! I've got my waterproof mascara ready - and I may drink a glass of wine afterwards - actually maybe a stiff drink! I'm not ready to let me baby, Marissa, go to school and have someone else teach her and see all the cool things she accomplishes and says throughout the day!

I wish school did not start until 6 years old, and even then - I wish school was always only 4 hours long until she's 10 years old!

I know she'll learn tons, make friends, and learn to do so much more I wasn't able to teach her. Most of all I'll miss her at my side all day, asking for milk, or a snack and play - but I'll have to wait until after school to do ALL the fun stuff we use to do throughout the day when she was a toddler. Marissa is now a kindergarten student, I hope she misses me as much as I'll miss her - but I know this part of life is the necessity to succeed and becomes all that she can by learning the fundamentals of life, and remembering the values I taught her at home always knowing that home is where all the love she needs is and that we have more and more to give, no matter what obstacles she crosses!

If we were not individuals life would be boring, my biggest fear is someone verbally hurting Marissa. Words are powerful, we all need to focus more on teaching our kids how to be kind with words, that everyone is just like you, maybe with more, maybe with less - but we are all human with feelings. Perfect may be easily written physically by our clothes and the smile on our face, but inside we all have fears, and things we don't like about ourselves. The first thing is to be kind, if someone chooses to be unkind, ignore them and hope the next person is someone to befriend.
