....Marissa's school held a Thanksgiving dinner [lunch] for the children. Parents served the kids chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, salad, crescent rolls and lots of desserts!
Prior to the feast the kids made mini-cheesecakes and turkey hats, which they all wore during dinner!
Thanksgiving morning was spent watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and then off to an early dinner at my parents house! Marissa helped set the dinner table placing the napkins on each plate along with handwritten name tags, which she took a picture of each place setting.
We decided to each give thanks, Marissa and Sierra were very excited to speak. They were thankful for all at the table. Sierra then sited the Girl Scout promise and Marissa had us all say the Pledge of Allegiance. :) We were all amazed by what they had to say, not scripted, totally out of the blue.
A few days after Thanksgiving we headed over to Smith Family Farm, in the pouring rain, to get or Christmas tree and meet Santa. I usually have the family all decked out in our Christmas attire, but because of the weather decided to just get what we could. Here the girls each pose with Santa.
The family portrait with Santa.
Unfortunately, the gentleman helping load our tree was not a photographer. It was raining, and he kept holding the camera with one hand, saying "HUM, that's weird the picture is blurry" - REALLY??!! try holding the camera with two hands and not drop your one hand while taking the picture. Of course, I didn't want to say that out loud, just took what we could get after 3 tries - not bad.
Here the girls pose with Santa's reindeer, as I scourer the farm for left over tree branches to make a wreath.
At home while our delicious trader joe appetizers were cooking in the oven, Sierra placed the Star on the Tree!
It was so cute watching the girls dance around the tree with excitement decorating to their hearts content!
After we all decorated the tree, Pearl decided to take a ride on The Polar Express.
