Sierra's 4 year old wellness/doctor appointment

Once I scheduled Sierra's appointment Marissa was glued to my hip insisting the appointment be made before she started school - she wanted to be there to witness Sierra getting her 4 vaccination SHOTS! GEEZ, REALLY??!! Cruel, I know, but what are siblings for, so of course Sierra went ballistic overhearing my conversation with Marissa... What, Mommy 4 SHOTS!!!??? Can you please ask them to only give me 1. Fast forward to her appointment, Thursday July 28th, all bright-eyed and fancy in her favorite outfit, of the week! Weighing in at 39 1/2 lbs., and her height at 39 3/4. Sierra's appointment went well, great list of foods she eats, but not so much chocolate - HA! She has, from what the nurse said AMAZING hearing - hum, not at home, but I'm thrilled with the comment! She has 20/25 vision - this silly hand print kept stumping her. She'd glance toward me to cheat, expecting a whisper from ME, who couldn't see half of what she already correctly identified! "Keep going Sierra" I said "You're doing great" We had to take a pee cup home to return with a urine sample. Her nerves just wouldn't allow her to drip a single drop! Back to the room for the shots - goodness I felt sooo bad. Sierra kept saying "Mommy, please ask them to only give me 1 shot, OKAY, PLEASE, 1 shot!!!"; I said "Well you either get 1 huge shot or 4 little shots"; Sierra said, "uh, ok 4, but sing the alphabet song to me, and have them use the strawberry shortcake band aids in your purse!"; "Deal" I said! As I held her tight - her hands in mine, and our cheeks pressed together side-by-side so she couldn't see....the pain set in! Tears rolling down her little face. My little Sierra was so upset, but all was good after a lollipop, some stickers and a dip in our pool!
