Marissa's Birthday Party!.... yes, PART 3

On Saturday, Marissa's friends came over to celebrate her 4th birthday! Soon after everyone arrived we ordered Pizza!! Brian and I always kill ourselves BBQ'ing - not able to spend much time w/friends - this year, simple = fun and relaxation. This allowed more time for games and conversations w/friends.

A number 4 pinata started the festivities - this year Marissa insisted on hitting the pinata w/a bat (you'd think having a husband who plays softball we'd have a baseball bat...all I've got is a maglite flashlight - DRATS! So, The Robert's family saved the day bringing Mason's bat).

However, unknown to others, we also taped ribbon to the bottom of the pinata to give the children under 3 a chance to participate. Sucker No. 1 SIERRA Sucker No. 2 ARABELLA Sucker No. 3 TESSA Sucker No. 4 ETHAN

Brian and I giggled while the parents cheered each kid that pulled a string!

First real swinger up to bat,

MARISSA.....BATTA MASON....BATTA SARAH....BATTA SEDONA....A SWING MAILE....AND A ANGELINA.....MISS .........each kid w/2 strikes! ETHAN....Go figure, the son of a lawyer manages not only to take a chance at the fake string pulling, but later takes a swing w/the bat and gets a home run - HA!!

Next up, a Pillow Sack Race and an Egg and Spoon Race (Melanie seemed to think Marissa had some sort of leverage on this (recalling back to our Easter Post)...consult Ethan on such ethics - HA!). A group photo attempt: Maile, Marissa, Arabella, Angelina, Sierra, Sarah, Mason, Sedona and Tessa!

Now the next photos you are about to witness may be shocking and disturbing. What has the world come to when a gun gets pulled on the birthday girl for a slice of cake?! HA! ..... ...I think these are some of the cutest pictures! The most shameful thing about this event - I did forget to slice the Silvermist (a fairy from the new Tinkerbell movie) cake (which by the way I slaved the night prior, on my own birthday - wait, does that put me in the running for a mother of the year award?)

I was so pre-occupied w/passing out my 40 cupcakes, not realizing that someone was about to put a cap in my child's a**! Luckily, I managed to persuade the Yoch Town assailant w/a triple layer frosted heart shaped cupcake - PHEW!

And then there are those kids who seem to have been put into some sort of trance after eating a cupcake! Sierra, as well as her cousin Arabella.

The day concluded w/an after (drawing) party on Marissa's new erasable Barbie table. As well as an after hours (bath) party!

I promise to post birthday party video's within a day!!

ps. Thank you to all who were able to come to the party! Marissa was super excited and couldn't stop talking about her friends, and how much fun she had at her party!
