Sierra's 1st Dental Appointment!

After Marissa's horrific first dental appointment experience 3 years ago, at the ripe old age of 2 - I waited until Sierra was 3 and perfection! Can't say that her age and/or my persuading helped make today any easier - I give the credit to Marissa who was sweet enough to sit w/Sierra last night and this morning, and talk about how nice the dentist is and all the goodies she'd receive afterwards! Marissa likes the dentist, so Sierra took all of what Marissa had to say to heart and was super excited to go this morning.

Bright eyed at 8:15 am, Sierra was called into the office with no fears. Sat comfortably in the x-ray chair... In the morning Marissa asked Sierra: "What flavor toothpaste do you want, you want to pick now, because they'll ask you when you get there" Sierra looked a Marissa like a puppy dog and said "Strawberry". Before Sierra even sat on the exam chair she told the hygienist "Strawberry toothpaste please!" While sitting on the exam chair the hygienist showed Sierra all the dental instruments she'd be using for today's visit and as soon as the hygienist showed Sierra the small mirror, Sierra quickly opened her mouth - guess all the pretend exams at home paid-off! HA! Sierra sat motionless with borrowed sunglasses on to shield the glare from the light above, while me the blogger mom, camera in hand at the edge of the chair.

After rinsing out the toothpaste from her mouth, Sierra sat back into the exam chair and asked: "Can we do that again?!" I said "You want to get your teeth cleaned again? Sierra said "Yes, I liked it!" The hygienist looked bewildered and said "Wow, that's a first!" HA!!

Next-up a vitamin toothpaste which sits for 2 minutes. Ready for the Rewards! Tons of Stickers; a Hello Kitty Pencil w/a Tooth Pencil Topper/Eraser; a Pad of Paper; a Dinomite-Teeth Rinse Cup, a Purple and a Pink Toothbrush, a 2 Minute Sand Timer; and... a Photo w/a Mr. Crocodile Puppet! Each day I'm a little prouder of my girls! They ROCK!
