I was very camera happy during this trip, and could not, would not, post every picture. Instead, I choose a few 'highlight' pictures to post, and grouped the remaining into slide shows.
The beach house in on Highway 1 across from the ocean and coincidentally (or is it) within walking distance to the Portuguese Beach, which is where we spent every afternoon!
As I downloaded the camera's photos, I noticed Marissa had taken a few candid portraits. This next slide show should amuse all of you!
Marissa & I fooled around making sand faces, since Sierra wont let you build any sort of sand castle. Every time you flip the bucket over Sierra runs in full attack and stomps on top of the stand...Marissa joins in on the attack, but I think she'd actually enjoy seeing a sand castle for her polly dolls - HA!
Wednesday afternoon Martina, and her girls Angelina & Tessa joined us at the beach house! We hung out for a little while at the beach then headed over to Cioppino Italian restaurant for some Pizza! Marissa had been craving pizza since Monday, when we arrived to Bodega Bay, but I told her we had to wait until Wednesday for Angelina.
Angelina decided to order spaghetti and began imitating the scene from Lady and the Tramp with Martina. Marissa thought this was so cool and decided to play along with Sierra. Next thing you know Marissa was slurping more spaghetti on her own than she could handle and choked, throwing up!
Luckily I saw the look on her face and ran over with a few cloth napkins in hand catching all the curdled milk and spaghetti! I took Marissa to the restroom to clean her up and BOOM she throws up again, this time all over the bathroom lobby rug! OMG - luckily no one else was in the facility so I began to toss hands full of water on the floor and wipe it down with paper towels, while keeping Marissa calm. Thankfully the wait staff was super cool, so worried about Marissa.
Of course I still had my entire dinner waiting, so I scarfed down my delicious cod fish and chips, while daydreaming about my bottle of wine at the beach house - HA! Lord knows I needed it.
This mini-vacation with the girls was such an awesome time for me to spend time alone relaxing instead of running errands, washing dishes and doing laundry!! Life is too short I wish I could do this more often!
Each morning, and early evening we walked Hobie along Carmet (small pebble, not sand) Beach. While Hobie skipped in the ocean or hid beside the rock walls, apparently his rearend is too precious to sit on rocks, the girls and I collected MANY rocks!
We would return to the house for lunch, then hurry to the Portuguese beach. The water was FREZZING, so we just played in the sand, chased birds, and soaked up the warmth of the sun, and I mastered the camera's self-timer!
