Marissa's BARBIE Birthday!

of course each year my birthday is spent decorating and planning for Marissa's big bash, because our birthday's are two days apart - Marissa April 15, me April 17! No biggie - the kids and Brian always take me out for dinner or bring home sushi, but today as I write this post Marissa asked "Mommy, how come you didn't have a birthday party, with cake and presents?" I said, "I did have a party, you guys took me to Fuzio's for dinner." Marissa said, "that wasn't a party that was a surprise." I said, well I'll have a party on May 8th with Auntie Elilah and family." Marissa said "Oh good mommy, then I have to go get you a present, I'll tell daddy."

I thought it was super sweet of her to think about me!! I know it confuses her a little when I celebrate my birthday so close to her birthday party. It'll get easier the older she gets.

Anyway, back to posting Marissa 5th Birthday party! and How lucky were we to have the most beautiful weather in the month of April! Marissa kept asking why we didn't have a pool party! Who knew it was going to be such a nice day! This year Marissa choose the order of the party...Pin the Glasses on Barbie, Presents, Pinata and Cake! I figure it's her party, and I always feel weird telling the kids to stop playing, because of a scheduled/planned party. Marissa always seemed to time each event perfectly. HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE GIRL!

This year while at Toysrus, an employee suggested I enroll the kids in their "WISHLIST" program. Similar to a baby/bridal registry, but for kids to scan their favorite toys, creating a birthday and/or Christmas wish list, you can continue to add and/or delete at any time in store or online! I felt a little uncomfortable at first sending out the list to friends, family no biggie. I just didn't want to demand a gift or make someone feel awkward suggesting that a guest was required to pick from the list. Luckily, I had all good feedback regarding the wish list and it actually made it easier for parents/kids to pick out a gift for Marissa. :)

A sad attempt at the kids group shot! Better than nothing I guess.

SILLY KIDS!!

Marissa w/the barbie game Blindfold! Sierra w/the barbie game Blindfold! Ethan w/the barbie game sticker!

PINATA TIME!! So funny, Brian kept lowering the pinata at Hobie, and he was trying to attack it, and actually ripped 4 ribbons off - thankfully he didn't pull the winning string!! HA!

sorry Sedona, and Caden! You never had a chance to swing at the pinata! Maile got the winning hit!

Thanks to everyone to helped make Marissa 5th Birthday a very special day!
