Afterwards the kids enjoyed Pizza and Cake. Aisha, Amaya's mom handed a handmade medal to each guest!
Sierra 'HOP' medal.
Marissa's 'ROLL' medal.
The kids center had a creative way to hand out presents. Each guest sat on a carpet square holding their present for Amaya, then passed around a bean bag while music played [similar to hot potato game], and once the song stopped the child holding the bean bag handed their gift to Amaya! Everyone was able to appreciate the gift(s) given.
Later that day/evening we (including Brian) celebrated my dads 67th birthday at my sister's house in Hayward. For almost a year we [The White's - Brian & I; The Freitas' - my Parents; and The Cumero's - Mike & Elilah) have been competing in a monthly "appetizer" night. So, we decided to have an appetizer/birthday celebration.
Each couple must make an appetizer which we judge by Creativity, Taste, and Presentation. The winner is given the trophy, a Spatula, which is held at the winner's home until a new winner is crowned. The winner also decides what the next month's appetizer must consist of, region and/or ingredient. We have a BLAST each month becoming more creative and more competitive. My parents won this month with Cherry Tomato's Stuffed w/Crab! I'll have to remember to take photos of our appetizers.
Afterwards, us adults played Poker for a few hours - the men said us ladies were too loud during the games - LOL!! The White's won $43.00!!

Love the appetizer idea! So fun (and yummy!)
Also the gift opening game sounds like a great idea to let everyone participate and have fun along with the birthday girl, I like it!
