Library Halloween Party and an elementary school Harvest Festival

The week after Marissa's fall break I searched for local holiday events, I came across the Brentwood Library's annual Halloween party and a Harvest Festival at Garin elementary school which is located near downtown brentwood.

But first we made some yummy Halloween shape Brownies - yum! On Wednesday October 19th, the girls and I dressed-up to attend the Library Halloween party held at brentwood's senior center. The librarians all dressed in costume, and hosted an hour long free event with snacks, crafts, face painting, games and a haunted bus. Crafts included rainbow colored scratch art shapes and mini clear baby food jars transformed into jack-o-lantern candle holders (we used the battery operated tea lights at home) Marissa won a rubber ducky, and Sierra won bat glasses after knocking all the candy corn shaped bowling pins down - STRIKE! At home we put the glasses on Rocky - Scary BAT DOG! Marissa had her face painted with a candy corn, the painting looks as unappetizing as the actual candy corn - HA! Then onto the spooky Halloween Bus which was more fun than scary, the girls walked through-it 5 times, and given a lollipop at the end of the tour.

Friday October 21st, The girls and I met-up with my good friend Melanie and her kids, Maile, Kira and Mason at the Garin elementary Harvest Festival - not to speak down about Marissa's elementary festival, but the Garin event put Marissa's school to shame - LOL! The girls making more rainbow colored paper art shapes, and played tons of games - $20.00 worth of game tickets, a great way to entertain the kids for 2 hours and support the school! Here Sierra, little mermaid fished for prizes. Marissa was wearing her costume, but once she noticed no other kids in costume she quickly changed into her regular clothes in the car, leaving her care bear ears on for fun - good thing I remembered to bring a change of clothes - gold star for me! :) The girls played bean bag pumpkin toss, and fished for a winning duck! My cute little little scarecrows! A few other activities they enjoyed, golfing, bracelet bead making, and sand art keychains! We couldn't resist the photo wall with 5 cutouts, perfect for our 5 kids, MASON, SIERRA, MARISSA, KIRA and MAILE! Fun times with great friends!
